The Atlanta Bridge Program, a pioneering partnership between Georgia Tech and Atlanta Metropolitan State College (AMSC), is redefining what it means to be a transfer student. Officially launched in 2025, the program is designed to ease the transition for students seeking to move from AMSC to Georgia Tech, offering not just academic resources but a sense of belonging and identity as future Yellow Jackets.
On Friday, June 13, Georgia Tech welcomed students in the inaugural cohort of the Atlanta Bridge Program to campus to learn more about the program ahead of the Fall 2025 semester.
The Atlanta Bridge Program is a partnership between Tech and Atlanta Metropolitan State College (AMSC) that aims to bring talented students to the Institute as transfer students.
In early December, Georgia Tech accepted over 2,600 students from 111 different counties. The first student admitted, however, was from an unexpected locale – Twiggs County – where in many years no student applied, and no other applicant had been admitted since 2000.
Enrollment Management at Georgia Tech introduces a new role to continue the past decade’s work in expanding access to Tech for Georgia students. This first-of-its-kind position will break down financial barriers to obtaining a Tech education.
