On Dec. 18, 2025, G. Wayne Clough Tech Promise Scholar Giuli Capparelli Sanabria and other Georgia Tech representatives travelled to the Georgia State Capitol to visit Governor Brian Kemp and First Lady Marty Kemp.
The invitation to meet came after Capparelli Sanabria was the featured student speaker at the University System of Georgia Foundation’s Regents’ Scholarship Gala in August, which raised over $4.5 million for need-based student support in the state of Georgia. She was also awarded the inaugural DREAMS scholarship at the gala.

Capparelli Sanabria said she was ecstatic to have the opportunity. During the meeting, she discussed her experience as a pre-vet student, volunteer efforts, and life at Tech.
“I am forever grateful for the opportunity to represent Georgia Tech and be a part of an institution that prioritizes making education accessible,” said Capparelli Sanabria. “It was a great honor to meet the Kemps and discuss my journey at Tech.”
Capparelli Sanabria was accompanied by two members of the Tech Promise Program staff and Tech’s executive director for strategic student access, Rick Clark.
“Georgia has a long history of supporting college access and affordability through programs like the Hope and Zell Miller scholarships,” said Clark. “The DREAMS scholarship and other need-based aid are an important expansion as we seek to be the top state for retaining, growing, and recruiting talent.”
The visit was made possible through coordinated efforts from Tech’s Institute Relations and government partners.
