Over 3,600 Georgians Admitted to Georgia Tech’s 2025 First-Year Class

On March 7 at 7 p.m., Georgia Tech admitted 1,048 Georgia students in the Regular Decision 1 round of undergraduate admission decisions. These students join those already admitted during the Georgia students-only Early Action 1 phase, making for a total of 3,666 Georgia admitted students for Tech’s 2025 first-year class.

Undergraduate Admission received a total of 12,511 applications from the state, up 17.5% from the previous year. Of all Georgia admitted students, 17% are first-generation college students, and 15% come from rural Georgia.

“Because these students are so talented and will inevitably receive offers from other colleges, now the work begins to encourage these students to choose us,” said Mary Tipton Woolley, interim executive director of the Office of Undergraduate Admission. “So, we urge our campus partners to congratulate admitted students and help them find their college home at Tech.”

Undergraduate Admission counselors Julissa Ortiz and Christina Scott traveled to South Georgia early Friday to surprise several students with in-person deliveries of their acceptance notices. These visits took place at four high schools in Johnson, Pulaski, Schley, and Treutlen Counties.

Admission decisions for non-Georgia residents who applied during the Regular Decision phase or were deferred during Early Action 2 will be announced on Friday, March 28.

Admitted students have until May 1 to pay their enrollment deposit and commit to Tech.
