On Friday, Jan. 31, 36,185 students applying to Georgia Tech during the Early Action 2 phase received their admission decisions.
The admission rate for this group, which includes both international and U.S. students outside of the state of Georgia, was 8.1%.
The 2,950 admitted students hail from 80 countries, 49 states, and over 1,800 high schools around the globe. These admitted students join over 2,650 Georgia students admitted in the Early Action 1 Georgia-only application phase.
Early Action 2 is the largest round of applications, representing 54% of the 66,892 students who have applied to Georgia Tech for the 2025 entering class. Again this year, the Office of Undergraduate Admission received a record number of applications, up 12% from the year before.
“This year’s continued record-breaking number of applicants highlights the ever-growing interest in a Tech education,” said Mary Tipton Woolley, interim executive director of Undergraduate Admission. “This group represents over half of our total applicant pool this year, and the talent we see out of these students is remarkable. The volume and quality of students in this group continues to be challenging for our Undergraduate Admission team, and I am proud of how hard our team has worked to get ready for this decision release.”
Campus visit events and outreach opportunities are already in progress for all admitted students, with additional information available on the campus visits page.
Students who applied during the Regular Decision phase or were deferred during Early Action 1 or 2 can expect to receive their admission decisions in March.
